Terms and conditions

In the following terms and conditions, myself (Johanna Maul), the retreat organiser and facilitators are referred to as ‘we’ or ‘us’. We strive to create a safe and loving atmosphere during your retreat, and only take on a limited number of guests. These guidelines help to ensure that retreats and other experiences run smoothly.

Eligible guests

Booking can only be made by persons over 18 years old. Pregnant women attend at their own risk. We advise you to seek medical advice before attending a yoga class. The retreat unfortunately cannot be attended by individuals in a wheelchair.

Limitation of Liability

As with any physical activity, it is important that before beginning any fitness regime, you consult with your healthcare professional to ensure that you are mindful of your current health and any medical and health restrictions that may apply to you. We accept no liability for any injury, loss of property, or death resulting from attending our retreats or yoga classes. When attending yoga classes, you practice at your own risk.

We do not accept responsibility for any personal items which are left, lost, damaged during the retreat.

At times, we take photographs and videos – including meal times, yoga classes, and workshops. In booking with us, you provide us with your permission to be photographed, and for these photos and videos to be used in our marketing materials.

Payment for your holiday

A deposit of 50% of the total retreat price is required at the time of booking. We reserve the right to vary the deposit as appropriate. The balance is due 4 weeks prior to departure. If the booking is made less than 4 weeks before departure, the full amount is due on booking. Final retreat details will usually be sent out approximately 1 week before departure.

Payment must be in the currency of the invoice and you are responsible for bank charges. If you choose to pay the balance of your holiday by credit card or debit card we reserve the right to pass on any charges that we incur in the processing of the payment.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Our cancellation policy is in place to help guests and us alike work together sharing expenses that may arise from unexpected cancellations. It is your responsibility to read and understand our cancellation policies.

Cancellation of your retreat by you

  • – Deposits are not refundable.

  • – Deposits are transferable to another new attendee found and assigned by original attendee.

  • – Full balance are due 4 weeks before start date of retreat unless otherwise noted or agreed.

  • – Cancellation requests submitted before balance due date can be refunded with max. 50% of the paid amount (minus deposit).

  • – Within 4 weeks of your retreat there will be no refunds given.

  • – Any refunds allowed will incur a 3% processing fee.

All cancellations must be made in writing by the person who made the booking and are effective on the day we receive it.

It is our decision to grant exceptions, for example due to weather, injury/illness, or personal emergencies, but it is not mandatory. No refunds or credits are given for failure to attend or failure to complete the retreat, or for arriving late or leaving early.

We require that you purchase travel insurance that includes yoga activities to cover medical expenses in the event you have an accident while on the retreat.

You can also get a trip cancellation insurance so that your trip fees will be covered should you or your family have a medical problem prior to your trip or while on the trip.

We cannot be held responsible for any personal expenses, such as airline tickets or hotel tickets due to changes in itineraries.

Amendments or Cancellations by us

  1. Cancellation by us
Whilst we hope we will never have to cancel your retreat, we reserve the right to do so. Should it be necessary to cancel, we will do our best to offer alternative arrangements of equivalent or similar standards. Can this not be provided, we will provide a full refund.

  2. Changes during the holiday
If we are unable to provide a significant proportion of your holiday whilst you are away, suitable alternative arrangements will be made for you at no extra cost.

  3. Force Majeure
Compensation will not be payable in any cases where an amendment, change or cancellation is due to “force majeure”, being unusual or unforeseeable events or circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which neither we nor our suppliers could avoid. These include, but are not limited to, war, threat of war, riot, civil disturbance or strife, terrorist activity (actual or threatened), industrial disputes, technical or maintenance problems with transport, machinery or equipment, power failure, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, flood, drought, adverse weather conditions, levels of water in rivers, acts of God, closure of airports, changes of schedules or operational decisions of transport providers.

Complaints

If you have any complaints about the venue during the retreat, please speak to us directly and we will do our best to help resolve any problems. Any unresolved complaints must be notified to us in writing within 30 days of your return.

Passports, Visas and Vaccinations

It is your responsibility to ensure that all necessary passports are valid for the destination of the retreat.
You should also ensure that you have all necessary visas, vaccinations and other health documents in order.

You should ensure you are covered for all activities you are planning on your trip.

Excursions and activities

We are only responsible for excursions and activities sold by us and which form part of your holiday contract. Any activities outside of the retreat container or activities provided by us are at your own responsibility.
